Episode 26: Pass The Peas
Happy Thanksgiving! For this holiday episode, we had some friends in the building. The show kicks off with our intros and some wild conversations. We also asked you, the listener, to share the show with your people since you'll all be together for the holiday.
As usual, we covered a wide range of topics on this episode, including NFL, NBA, NCAA, and WWE. You can listen to this episode via iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Soundcloud; you can also skip ahead to the topic of your choosing by clicking on the corresponding time stamp(s).
This segment begins with a brief recap of the best and worst from Week 11 of the NFL season (00:09:56), followed by us diving into the latest standings and making our picks for the Pick ‘Em Pool (00:14:31). Next, we discussed the latest news out of the NFL including the allegations against Jameis Winston (00:22:10), quarterback changes in Buffalo and Denver (00:23:40), coaching changes in Oakland and Denver (00:24:10), and players who hit the waivers (00:25:04). Once we got back on track, we discussed things that have stood out to us in past week of the league (00:29:15), who we think are the leading MVP candidates (00:29:56), and the ease of trading players (00:31:35).
Next, we discussed Lonzo Ball’s comments about fights in the NBA and his production this season (00:33:29) which turned into a conversation about liquor and passing the peas (00:36:25). We wrapped this segment up with “Story Time With Tim” (00:37:56).
Michael Porter, Jr.’s draft prospects with his season-ending injury was the first topic of this segment (00:42:14). We then discussed the latest college football playoff rankings (00:44:02) which lead into a side conversation about disrespect and New York (00:44:13).
Next, we discussed some coaching firings and rumors of Chip Kelly returning to college football (00:45:22) and Camille’s injuries (00:46:12). This segment wraped up with a huge debate about if Wisconsin should be in the college football playoffs (00:47:39).
How did we feel about Survivor Series? That conversation started this topic discussion (00:51:36). We then discussed how amazing NXT Takeover was (00:58:20) and if Tim is a mini Velveteen Dream (1:00:03). This topic ends with a “sermon” about if Jesus was black (1:01:12).
MLB discussions kicked with us discussing who won the MVP award this year (01:03:50), former Braves GM John Coppolella aka Grown Caillou being permanently banned from baseball (01:04:40), and Aaron Judge’s shoulder surgery (01:05:32).
