Shots of Wild Turkey 101 kicked off the show and had Ken recovering for the first few minutes. Before getting into the show we discussed our holiday weekend, alcohol, and children. As usual, we covered a wide range of topics on this episode, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and WWE. You can listen to this episode via iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Soundcloud; you can also skip ahead to the topic of your choosing by clicking on the corresponding time stamp(s).
We kicked the show off by recapping the latest stories and news surrounding the NBA Playoffs (00:14:44) and kept that same energy by discussing the NHL Playoffs (00:30:23). After all the playoff talk we discussed Aaron Rodgers’ conversation with the Atlanta Falcons GM (00:31:09), former WWE wrestler Enzo Amore’s new career (00:32:00), and Richie Incognito’s latest troubles (00:36:08). The bad news train continued as we discussed Glen “Big Baby” Davis being arrested (00:36:43) and White Sox C Welington Castillo being suspended 80 games for PED usage (00:37:12).
We switched courses to discuss the Champion’s League final (00:39:17) and the upcoming World Cup (00:41:23). Next, we discussed the NBA’s All-Defense and All-NBA teams (00:46:07) and some of the latest NFL transactions (00:50:17). Some of the biggest news stories from the past week had some of the biggest social impacts as well. We spent some time discussing both the new NFL anthem rules (00:51:31) and the Milwaukee Police Department/Sterling Brown saga (00:58:55) which ended with a church sermon applauding the Milwaukee Bucks. After covering those topics, we discussed former 76ers GM Sam Hinkie’s new job (01:04:15) and got into a spirited debate over the latest T-K MLB Power Rankings (01:06:00).
Once we got back on track we gave a quick update on the French Open (01:12:26), Indy 500 (01:12:43), and who’s hosting the EPSYS (01:12:51). We then started looking at some news that came our way via Instagram – first with Carmelo Anthony getting upset over claims that Kyle Korver is better than him (01:13:18) and then Dez Bryant shooting his shot with the San Francisco 49ers (01:15:02). We wrapped things up by discussing Doc Rivers contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers (01:16:03), the first professional team with a marijuana sponsor (01:17:06), upcoming NFL Super Bowl locations (01:20:44), and Kobe Bryant’s upcoming book (01:21:21).
