Episode 71: F*** What You Talkin' 'Bout

Tim kicked the show off with a story that no one expected, or quite understood. Before starting the show we discussed how our weeks went, how much some of us hate distance running, and what kind of child Tim probably was. Before getting into the show, we discussed last week's This or That which asked, "Which movie is better: Mighty Ducks or The Sandlot?" Most of our listeners picked Sandlot, but the TECK Foul crew all chose Mighty Ducks.

Also, make sure you save the date and come out on Wednesday, October 17th to our Bucks watch party at SportClub!

As usual, we covered a wide range of topics on this episode, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and WWE. You can listen to this episode via iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Soundcloud; you can also skip ahead to the topic of your choosing by going directly to the corresponding time stamp(s) to hear us discuss:

We went to our TECKnical Foul Pod: Overtime Facebook group to respond to listener questions from the following:

  • DJ Bond: Will the benefit outweigh the risk of tinkering with something so fundamental to the game with the new shot clock rule and the expansion of the “hostile act” definition? (01:20:48)

  • DJ Bond: Wondering if Kyrie’s return (and ball dominant nature) will actually prove disruptive to what was a very efficient, fluid, and fun to watch Celtics offense at the end of last season? (01:22:18)

  • DJ Bond: The Carmelo slander is funny as hell but I think this might turn out to be a great fit for him, significantly reduced pressure and all. (01:23:08)

  • Michael N.: Who will be the first coach fired and why? And why won't it be Fred Hoiberg, goddamnit? (01:24:58)

  • Michael N.: Outside of Bob Myers and possibly Magic Johnson, who could be up for discussion for Executive of the Year? (01:25:37)

  • Michael N.: Will Philly become a true contender over the next three years? What is the massive step forward they need to take this year to build on their surprise #3 seed from this past season? (01:26:22)

  • Triple T: When will Vince McMahon let the old people stay retired? I feel like they're using them to get viewers taht are in our age range to tune back in. How do y'all feel about that? (01:27:28)

Two victims this week:

  1. Antonio Brown (01:30:20)

  2. The WWE (01:31:20)

We reviewed the results of last week’s #TECKTop5 poll that Tim won (01:32:53) before we dropped our #TECKTop5 NBA Players You Want No Smoke With (01:33:35). To drop your own #TECKTop5 or to vote on the poll, make sure that you are a member of our TECKnical Foul Pod: Overtime Facebook group.

(01:38:05) We wrapped things up by dropping our social media handles and saying our goodbyes. Thanks for listening, remember to share the show with your friends, and check back in next week!
