Well, hello there! Holiday greetings and Happy New Year. During our introductory conversation we recapped how we spent our Christmas weekend and how lit the Ugly Sweater Party at Ugly’s was. As usual, we covered a wide range of topics on this episode, including NFL, NBA, and WWE. You can listen to this episode via iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Soundcloud; you can also skip ahead to the topic of your choosing by clicking on the corresponding time stamp(s).
We kicked things off by discussing last week’s Pick ‘Em Pool standings and making our Week 17 NFL picks (00:11:32), followed by us discussing James Harrison signing with the Patriots (00:20:40), the Cardinals possibly moving away from Bruce Arias (00:24:35), and Jamaal Charles requesting to be released (00:26:04). Next, we discussed Landon Collins calling Eli Apple “a cancer” (00:28:09) but this conversation was derailed by Tim’s extremely ashy hands (00:30:39).
Once we got back on track, we gave our reactions to Earl Thomas running after Jason Garrett to tell him to “come get me” (00:32:10) and discussing if Jimmy Garoppolo is the quarterback of the future for San Francisco (00:34:37). We finished up this segment talking about the concept of a fall guy after hearing about Desean Jackson’s latest troubles (00:38:14), liars (00:39:45), and umbilical cords (00:41:13).
Christmas Day is the for the NBA so we started off this topic discussion by recapping favorite moments from that slate of games (00:42:31), if Kevin Durant is better than LeBron James (00:45:49), and light-skinned/dark-skinned stereotypes (00:48:37). Next we had a conversation about if it’s smart for Paul George to not tell the Thunder his offseason plans (00:50:14), tattoos (00:50:56), the NBA cancelling the Orlando Summer League (00:53:41), and the Suns releasing Mike James (00:55:21). We ended this segment highlighting the latest NBA injuries (00:57:25).

One victim this week:
This segment served as our first ever award show to highlight the best in sports from 2017, as voted by the listeners! We won’t spoil the winners here, so make sure you listen to find out who won team of the year, athlete of the year, newcomer of the year, biggest sport story, biggest babyface, and biggest heel (01:36:00).
We went live on Instagram, reviewed the results of last week’s #TECKTop5 poll (01:42:06) before we dropped our #TECKTop5 best promo artists (01:43:40) that included a hilarious Ken imitation by Tim. To drop your own #TECKTop5 or vote on the poll, make sure that you are a member of our Facebook group, TECKnical Foul Pod: Overtime.
(01:49:40) We wrapped things up while still laughing at Tim’s Ken imitation, dropping our social media handles and saying goodbyes. Thanks for listening, remember to share the show with your friends, and check back in next week!
