Episode 36: Hood Olympics

INTRO 

Another week, another dope pod for you to step with. During our introductory conversation talked about how Ken don’t f**k with us outside of the show no more, gave a couple of shoutouts to those who’ve given us new reviews, and asked y’all to continue to share and review the show as well. As usual, we covered a wide range of topics on this episode, including NFL, NBA, and WWE. NFL 

We kicked things of by giving our Super Bowl 52 predictions and recapping the biggest news leading up to the game (00:10:55). News included Rob Gronkowski’s impact (00:13:21) and Tom Brady getting upset with a local station (00:16:03). Roger Goodell wants to change the catch rule so we discussed the rule (00:19:38). We finished up by discussing the Pro Bowl (00:25:12) and the Steelers signing Trey Griffey (00:27:17) which led to a conversation about what events would be in a Hood Olympics.

 

NBA 

We got things started with the latest NBA injury news (00:30:05) which led us to discussing where the Wizards go from here (00:37:09). Since the Clippers traded Blake Griffin to the Pistons, we recapped what that trade means for both teams involved (00:39:22). Then we discussed the failed Bulls trade between the Pelicans and the Bulls (00:53:33).

 

Next we discussed if LeBron or Steph had the better All-Star team (00:54:23) and which starter was drafted last (00:55:39) before discussing if the additional money for the winning team will improve the competition (00:58:05). We finished this topic segment up by discussing Joakim Noah wanting out of New York (01:01:31) and Milwaukee Bucks rookie Sterling Brown being arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department (01:21:21).

 

MLB 

Chief Wahoo is FINALLY being removed from the Cleveland Baseball Team’s uniforms in 2019 so we discussed that and if it means anything for the Washington Football Team (01:03:01). We finished things up by discussing who was selected into the Hall of Fame (01:04:10) and recent moves that the Milwaukee Brewers have made (01:07:08).

 

WWE 

A big shoutout to our Royal Rumble Pool winner Jerry O’Brien! After giving him his props, we recapped the PPV by discussing the best and worst moments of the show (01:09:22) which led into a conversation about what Ronda Rousey’s role with the WWE will be (01:09:22). We finished things up by talking about the Dudley Boyz being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and where they rank all-time (01:16:13) and announcing that the WWE will have its first ever women’s Elimination Chamber (01:18:19).

 

 

HEADING INTO OVERTIME
