Ken back and we’re definitely not suitable for work this week. Before getting into the show we discussed how trash the weather has been, how important it is to brush your entire car off, and if it’s ever snowed in June in Milwaukee. As usual, we covered a wide range of topics on this episode, including the NFL, NBA, WWE, and MLB. You can listen to this episode via iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and Soundcloud; you can also skip ahead to the topic of your choosing by clicking on the corresponding time stamp(s).
We kicked things off by reacting to what’s happened in the Western Conference NBA Playoffs series (00:12:01) before discussing history setting play in the NHL Playoffs (00:23:13) and the latest NFL transactions (00:24:48). With the amount of strikeouts and walks up in the MLB, we discussed if it would harm the product (00:30:42) but then things got weird when we discussed a bear kicking off a soccer game (00:33:10) and Jordan Crawford in talks to sign with the Big Baller Brand (00:36:13). The Seattle Seahawks were in talks to bring Colin Kaepernick in for a workout but unsurprisingly, the trip was cancelled for some odd reason (00:38:25).
Next we discussed some draft news: first with the WNBA (00:40:39) and then with the Big3 League (00:43:08). After that we discussed John Cena and Nikki Bella calling off their engagement (00:47:20) and discussed the news surrounding the Eastern Conference NBA Playoff series (00:48:51). We then discussed the Boston Marathon winners (00:58:08) and comments Martellus Bennett had about NFL players smoking marijuana (00:58:55). The Cleveland Baseball Team made a mistake with merchandise for Jackie Robinson Day so we discussed that oversight (01:01:58).
Next we discussed the rumors around Aaron Rodgers being unhappy in Green Bay (01:03:00), which NBA job openings we think are most lucrative (01:05:37), and former WNBA star Tina Thompson being hired as Virginia’s women’s basketball team new head coach (01:10:15). WWE did their annual Superstar Shakeup so we discussed which moves surprised us (01:10:28) before talking about the scuttlebutt around Rob Gronkowski playing this season (01:12:17). We finished up the topic discussions by talking about the upcoming Dancing With The Stars season (01:13:31), NBA G-League players getting a raise (01:15:20), and the American boxer with wall-themed shorts getting knocked out (01:15:50).
HEADING INTO OVERTIME
We cut on Facebook Live and then went to our TECKnical Foul Pod: Overtime Facebook group to respond to listener questions from the following:
Christopher: How do you think the Bucks ended up being the 6th best-selling NBA team apparel? (01:16:50)
Jerrell: I think Leonard is going to leave now, especially after Pop’s shot. Where do you think he’d fit best? (01:17:42)
Rick: Was building a new arena for the Bucks a good idea? It kind of reminds me of Miller Park, which we’re still paying for, and that team still ain’t did ish (01:20:34)
BLOW THE WHISTLE
Two victims this week:
Richie Incognito (01:24:12)
Casual Bucks fans (01:27:42)
We reviewed the results of last week’s #TECKTop5 poll that Eric and Camille won (01:29:40) before we dropped our #TECKTop5 Best Press Conference Rants (01:31:51). To drop your own #TECKTop5 or to vote on the poll, make sure that you are a member of our TECKnical Foul Pod: Overtime Facebook group.
(01:39:33) We wrapped things up by dropping our social media handles and saying our goodbyes. Thanks for listening, remember to share the show with your friends, and check back in next week!
